Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to our city's parks and to have fun and learn at the same time? If so, volunteer with the SF Parks Alliance and the SF Recreation and Parks Department in Golden Gate Park on the second Saturday of each month at the Strawberry Hill Butterfly Habitat Restoration Project. At this volunteer work day, you'll take out invasive weeds and plant in the native plants species that butterflies need to thrive and survive, as well as doing other gardening tasks. You'll also learn about the cultural and natural history of Strawberry Hill and the surrounding area in Golden Gate Park.

No prior experience with habitat restoration is necessary, and gloves and tools will be provided. Please wear closed toe shoes, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Please bring water and a sack lunch. Meet at the Stow Lake Boat House. (Parking in available in the lot there.) We get started at 10 am sharp, and conclude the day at 2:00 pm.
