Podcasting Field Trip:
Join us in our new podcasting field trip program for middle and high school students at our Tenderloin Center. In this trip, you'll help the students transform the drafts they've written in their classroom into engaging podcast episodes.Your role as the tutor is essential to ensuring students create a podcast with a lot of personal voice in just one day.
Field trips last four hours and thirty minutes with time for lunch. There are two volunteer shifts for each field trip. You can sign up for one shift or be a part of the entire trip! Tutors who choose the first volunteer shift will work with students as they revise their classroom drafts into podcasts. Tutors in the second volunteer shift will help prepare students to record their podcast and explore audio editing. Please note that no experience in audio production is necessary.
As a field trip volunteer, support youth as they create podcasts that will entertain and inspire a listening audience!
Shift #1 (Writing Tutor): 9:30am - 12:00pm
Shift #2 (Recording Tutor): 12:05pm - 2:35pm
If you are interested in working with the same group of students week after week, please sign up at www.826valencia.org/volunteer-registration to begin your process in becoming an active volunteer.
