Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco's ReStore in San Carlos is a vital community anchor that resells donated home goods at a discount price to the public, with 100% of profits funding Habitat's mission of affordable homeownership and neighborhood revitalization.
The ReStore's operations depend on volunteers. To ensure the best experience for volunteers, as well as for customers, we plan on revamping our in-store signage, messaging, and volunteer check-in process. To accomplish this, we could use some help from a talented graphic artist like you!
The scope of this volunteer work will include:
1) In-Store Volunteer Check In:
Creating concepts & designing solutions for our volunteer check-in area to:
a) direct volunteers to the right point
b) give clear, but simple instructions on signing in/signing out
c) relay the shift’s needs / to-dos
d) create a positive messaging environment around the value created by ReStore volunteers
e) invite volunteers back
2) In-Store Habitat Brand Awareness:
Creating concepts & designing solutions to educate customers on Habitat Greater San Francisco’s mission that may include past projects, upcoming projects, statistics on volunteers, Habitat family stories, etc.
3) In-Store Signage:
Creating concepts & designing solutions for our in-store signage system that includes sales/promotional signage, various identifying product signage (tested labels, gas vs. electric appliances, etc.), customer warnings/instructional signage (area under surveillance, ladders for staff use only, etc.) and various other sales-driven needs.
