To promote pet adoptions; to provide the best & most appropriate care possible of the animals entrusted to us; to promote responsible pet ownership; to investigate & enforce laws regarding domesticated animals; to provide public safety-- within partner cities & in unincorporated King County (WA)
RASKC provides volunteers with meaningful opportunities to help take care of cats & dogs, who had been lost, surrendered, abandoned, or abused.
RASKC has one of the highest save rates in the country for a shelter of our size & our type (open admissions). In other words, RASKC has one of the lowest euthanasia rates in the U.S. among comparable shelters.
RASKC's success is largely due to the combined efforts of the professional staff and the volunteers.
RASKC also aims to provide a good sense of community-- between volunteers & also between volunteers and staff.
