Coastside Hope's mission is to help our neighbors meet their most basic needs while helping every one of us reach our full potential. We accomplish this by providing: Necessities – we help Coastside neighbors by providing food, clothing, housing assistance and support when they need it most; Opportunities – we help neighbors connect with our own established programs and services and those of others so that they may have the chance to achieve more; Community – Coastside Hope provides us all (staff, donors and volunteers) with the chance to grow by coming together to take care of our Coastside community through mutual giving and volunteering.
Coastside Hope offers basic life necessities with dignity and hope to all those making the San Mateo Coastside their home.
Coastside Hope touches the lives of over 3,000 individuals each year – more than 10% of our Coastside neighbors.
Our client base consists mostly of the working poor, employed in the fishing, agriculture, service, and hospitality industries. We also help low-income seniors, the homeless, and other neighbors in need.
All services are provided on a non-discriminatory basis without regard to race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, national origin, age or disability.
Established in 1976 as Coastside Opportunity Center, we are the San Mateo County designated community assistance agency for the Coastside.
Coastside Hope is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit; our federal tax ID is 51-0199747.
