Our Mission:
To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.

About:
The Sierra Club is the oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization in the United States. Founded in 1892 by John Muir, our victories include protecting Yosemite Valley and closing 106 coal-burning power plants. The Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club, with 22,000 members and supporters in Santa Clara, San Mateo, and San Benito counties, works to establish a safe and healthy community, to protect our local environment and to explore and enjoy the wild places near us. We're primarily led and run by volunteers and have many ways for you to get involved and contribute your time and talents.
