MedShare is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare and the environment through the efficient recovery and redistribution of surplus medical supplies and equipment to those most in need. We collect surplus medical supplies and equipment from healthcare facilities, distributors and manufacturers, and then redistribute them to medically under-served communities across the globe.
According to Healthcare Without Harm, U.S. hospitals generate more than two million tons of medical waste each year. Much of that waste is unused medical supplies and equipment. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization estimates that more than 10 million children under the age of five die in the developing world due to inadequate medical care.
So what can be done?
MedShare is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare and the environment through the efficient recovery and redistribution of the surplus of medical supplies and equipment to those most in need. We collect surplus medical supplies and equipment from hospitals, distributors and manufacturers, and then redistributes it to qualified healthcare facilities in the developing world. We also outfit medical missions and safety net clinics in both the U.S. and abroad.

MedShare is committed to measuring progress toward the ambitious goals set in our organization's strategic plan each fiscal year. Annually, MedShare quantifies its success in meeting our mission objectives by quantifying the following:
Measuring the number of shipments of forty-foot containers sent each fiscal year.
Measuring the amount of waste diverted from landfills and pounds of supplies received from hospital collections and manufacturers.Measuring financial success by our ability to maintain fiscal efficiency so that our revenue exceeds expenses, while keeping our percentage of adminstration and fundraising cost to total expense low.
Measuring fundraising success based upon the percent of donor support that is renewed each year.
Surveying our recipients to determine how useful our aid was and the impact it had on improving health in their community.
